Celestial Being

I've been loving celestial prints, so I was excited when I found this dress.  (Are you noticing a trend?  There are a lot of prints that I love.  Maybe I just love prints.)  I also love the high-low skirt.  It's very subtle, not full on mullet.

Sadness

I haven't had time to take outfit pictures lately, so I thought I'd do something different with today's blog.  Therefore, it is with great sorrow that I present to you two items that will be leaving my closet, though involuntarily.

This looks like a nice, straw bag, right?  Well it is.  I carry it all summer, as it goes with just about everything.  Unfortunately...

... the bottom has split open.  I've had this bag for years (although it doesn't feel like it) and I probably put way too much stuff in it, so it's not a quality issue.  I could probably keep carrying it for a little while, but it's only a matter of time before it splits open completely and all my stuff goes spilling onto the ground.  The good thing about this is that now I have an excuse to buy a replacement, as I don't really have anything else like this.  And there are a lot of summer sales on right now!

Next:

Scruffles thinks these are perfectly good shoes.

There used to be peacock feathers on both of these shoes.  The feathers also used to be not quite so messed up.  One day I wore these to work.  Both feathers were there when I left for work, but at one point during the day I looked down and they were missing from one shoe.  I couldn't even find the missing feather piece, so that I could glue it back on, which I totally would have done, because I love these shoes.  But what can you do?  And now that I look at this picture, they look a little beat up anyway.

So those are two things from my closet that I won't be wearing anymore.  Onward...

Ombre Lace

I've always loved ombre and lace, so when I saw this dress I immediately fell in love with it.  I wore it with a white cardigan for work, but I think it would also look really cute with a denim jacket and Converse All Stars.

She hates being picked up.

Pink & Chains

I don't have much to say about this.  This is casual, but cute.  I like the chains on the top.

I'm so emo.

Tennis, Anyone?

This dress makes me feel like I should go play tennis in it.  It was supposed to come with a little white belt, but I bought it on clearance and the belt was missing.  I added this little black belt, which actually came with a skirt from Forever 21.

Spinning.  I almost threw up after.
I'm kind of obsessed with this bracelet.

Bronze Goddess

When I told someone this skirt was from Express, they told me that I should lie and say that it's Armani or something really nice.  To that I say, "Good job Express!"  Also, this is one of my favorite necklaces.  It looks like little knives.  What's not to like?

Huh?

Mixed Prints

I put these shoes on with this outfit on a whim.  I didn't think there was any way they would actually work, but I found I rather liked the look.

Pretty kitty.

Cuddly puppy.

4th of July

So this is a little late for the 4th of July, but I've been out of town getting horribly sunburned at the Grand Canyon.  I love that this dress is the perfect length.  A lot of the time, maxi dresses end up being way to long for me and even when I wear them with my highest heels I still trip over the hem.  This dress actually seems to take into consideration that not everyone is as tall as a super model.

That little dog is Punky.  Scruffles is bitterly jealous of her.  Apparently we run a halfway house for dogs.

As usual, she has no idea what's goin' on.

Eyelet

I love this skirt and not just because it looks a lot like the Louis Vuitton spring line.  It doesn't show up well in the pictures, but the underlay is a pale neon yellow.  So pretty and a little bit edgy too.

Blurry puppy.  She's not good at being still.
