Some Stuff I'm Getting Rid Of

Some of you may remember, that when I started this blog, my goal was to try to wear everything in my closet within a year.  Well, my year is more than up and I seem to have failed miserably.  Anyway, I thought I'd share some of the things I didn't wear.  I'm just gonna tell you now, that I'm not getting rid of everything I didn't wear like I said I would.  It was a weird year, where I wasn't working full time and didn't wear as much as I normally would, so I'm giving some items a second chance.  On with the show...

 Jovovich-Hawk for Target Dress - I actually tried to wear this, but it didn't fit right.

Corey Lynn Calter Dress - Note to self: When you've lost a lot of weight after a really bad break-up, don't buy a fancy dress from Anthropologie that won't fit anymore if you gain even a pound.  I love this dress, so I've found a reasonable substitute from Express.

 R.D.S. Shirt - I think I've had this shirt since high school.  Janet Jackson had one like it and I thought it was so cool.  I mostly kept it for the novelty, but I've had no need for a novelty shirt in at least three years.

 Urban Outfitters Dress? Shirt? - I got this when it went on sale for ten bucks and have never worn it.  Maybe because I'm not sure if it's a shirt or a dress.  It seems too short to be a dress, but looks weird over pants.

Express Dress - I decided that I don't have to give away my party dresses that I haven't worn, but I don't need to keep all of them either.

Green Day

I went to a wedding on St. Patrick's Day.  I probably had a green dress somewhere in my closet that I could've worn, but I wanted to wear this one, dammit!  To save myself from any errant pinches, I added some green bracelets and a green bag.  I don't know if I would've chosen them otherwise, but I think it's a fun look.  Also, I just realized that almost this entire outfit is from Target.

How To Organize Your Jewelry

Since I haven't had time to take outfit pictures lately, I thought I'd share something that I'm quite proud of--my jewelry wall.  I hung all  those hooks myself!  Before I joined JewelMint I could pretty much fit all of my jewelry into the little box on the right.  (And no, I am not getting kickbacks from JewelMint, they have just made it way too easy to buy stuff from them.)  Anyway, I wanted to have everything where I can see it and to group the different types of jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, etc.) in more or less the same place to help me choose what to wear.  I started with hanging all my necklaces up on the wall.

You can't really tell, but underneath all those bracelets is a jewelry tree from Urban Outfitters.  The rest of the bracelets are on the holder in the next picture.   The bunny and elephant ring holders are  also from Urban Outfitters.  They're cute and as an added bonus they are useful (or vice versa?).  

This jewelry stand is also from Urban Outfitters and I haven't decided its specific purpose yet.

In addition to the ring holders, there are rings in the jewelry box.  So they're not all in exactly the same place, but at least I know where they all are.  Also in this box: earrings.  I can't wear them right now, though, because one of my holes close and I need to get it re-pierced.

These hooks are from the Container Store.  Did I mention I hung them myself?

I found this awesome tray on sale at Bed Bath & Beyond to put my perfume in. It looks much neater than how I just had them sitting on the dresser before.
